Air Passenger Rights

Air passenger rights are essential protections designed to ensure fair treatment for travelers. In Cyprus, these rights are governed by EU Regulation 261/2004, which covers various aspects such as flight cancellations, delays, and denied boarding. Passengers are entitled to compensation and assistance in cases where their flights are disrupted, ensuring they receive fair treatment and reimbursement for inconvenience and losses.

dENIED bOARDING

If you're denied boarding due to overbooking or other reasons within the airline's control, you are entitled to immediate assistance and compensation. The airline must offer you either an alternative flight or a full refund of your ticket. Compensation ranges from €250 to €600, depending on the flight distance.

DELAYED FLIGHT

If the delay exceeds three hours, passengers may be entitled to compensation of up to €600, unless the delay wascaused by extraordinary circumstances. For delays of five hours or more, passengers can choose a full refund or re-routing to their destination. In case of an overnight delay, the airline must also provide accommodation and transport to and from the airport.

Cancellation of flight

If your flight is canceled, the airline must offer you either a full refund or re-routing to your final destination at no extra cost. You may also be entitled to compensation ranging from €250 to €600, depending on the distance of the flight

Missed connection flight

If the missed connection results from a delay or cancellation of your first flight and the flights were booked under the same reservation, you could receive compensation of up to €600, depending on the distance of your journey.
